This is the State Court Criminal division. If you received it in one of the independent cities that resides in Fulton County and then requested a jury trial, it was remanded over to Fulton County because most cities do not conduct jury trials, only bench trials. You would have been better off pleading a nolo on the speeding ticket, paying the fine and moving on if that was offered. You may still be able to do this once you get in there. You need to call the state court criminal division clerk asap. 404-612-5805. They will tell you what the charge is and if you can file a continuance. They usually give you at least one continuance but you can't wait until the last minute. They may direct you to call Judge Bessen's clerk. You will probably have to leave a message for her and wait until she calls you back. She will call you back. You would be surprised what shows up in the court system. You would also be amazed at how many "non-criminals" get picked up for missed court dates, forgotten tickets, etc. Just when you forget all about it, Fulton County catches up. Due to the massive area they have to cover, it takes a while for something to get to court. Fulton County also gives you one reset date if you "miss" your court date. You have to physically go down there and get the new date. If you don't reset it after missing it, you will eventually be picked up by Fulton County Sheriff and God Help you then...
